Sydney Sweeney Turns Up the Glamour in Vintage Armani at a Venice Dinner

Sydney Sweeney has not walked this year's official Venice Film Festival red carpet yet, but she made a striking appearance at Armani Beauty's dinner in the city this week. She wore a sequined, sheer, sleeveless Giorgio Armani piece from the house's fall/winter 2000 collection, accessorized with Chopard jewelry, echoing the kind of sultry, sheer looks that have become one of her signatures on the carpet.

A familiar kind of moment

The look recalled one of Sweeney's most talked about red carpet appearances, a sheer silver Christian Cowan and Elias Matso dress she wore to Variety's Power of Women gala in October 2025. She first walked the Venice Film Festival red carpet back in 2022, appearing in a black gown alongside her Euphoria co-star Maude Apatow.

Sweeney has not given many major interviews this year, but she spoke to Cosmopolitan in January about how the public reacts to her changing appearance over time. She described seeing accounts compare photos of her as a 14 year old to how she looks now at 28, and pushed back on claims that she has had cosmetic work done, saying she never has and finding it upsetting that young girls might see those claims and feel pressure to alter themselves. She also addressed being hypersexualized, saying it is part of why she started her lingerie line, describing it as a way of reclaiming her body and her own narrative and using that to support other women.
