Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were in Nottingham for their first joint public event since moving back to the U.K., but on the same day, Kate Middleton was quietly working on something of her own. The Princess of Wales released the footage the following morning on her and Prince William's shared Instagram account.
A new project in Cornwall
The clip was filmed in Cornwall, where Kate announced a new initiative from the Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood. According to Kensington Palace, the visit was meant to explore the potential of nature-based learning in a child's earliest years, done in partnership with the Duchy of Cornwall, the estate William inherited from his father, King Charles III.
In the video, Kate laid out the thinking behind the project herself. 'New scientific research increasingly shows just how important nature is for our physical and psychological wellbeing,' she said. 'This project is about exploring how nature, creativity, and relationships can best support the healthy development of babies and young children. We believe that taking a whole-child approach is important, and nature becomes a wonderful place to explore how we can successfully nurture their social and emotional skills, the skills that underpin lifelong health and wellbeing.'
