A month of football across three countries has produced a final between Spain and Argentina, and alongside it a parallel tournament conducted entirely in stadium car parks. Arrival style has become the thing people screenshot.
Lamine Yamal, aged 19
Spain's breakout player has been just as conspicuous off the pitch. He has taken his team issue kit, slouchy burgundy track pants and a zip up Espana jacket, and paired it with an increasingly serious handbag rotation. For the semifinal against France he carried Chanel, and he opened the tournament in a head to toe look from the house including the tweed jacket.
Every squad has a house
The pattern of the tournament is that each team travels with a brand from its own country attached. For Spain that is Loewe, which signed a multiyear partnership with the national side before the competition. Its Amazona bag has become the unofficial pre match tote, carried by Nico Williams and Pedri among others.
France has leaned on Dior, with Kylian Mbappe leading that particular delegation.
Even the trophy has a bag
The cup will be presented in a custom Louis Vuitton monogram case marked with two golden Vs, one for Victory and one for Vuitton, made at the house's historic workshop at Asnieres-sur-Seine. Its duffles have been everywhere all month, which makes practical sense for players moving between cities, and Pharrell Williams's versions of the Keepall have had the most screen time. Jude Bellingham has barely put his down.
The best souvenir of the tournament
Norway went out in the quarterfinals, but Erling Haaland won the arrivals. He stepped off the plane home carrying a just debuted Dolce and Gabbana croc embossed tote from the men's spring and summer 2027 show, and a taxidermied raccoon.
The raccoon, it turns out, is a 750 dollar piece called the Whiskey Raccoon from a western store in Dallas, where Norway had played its round of 32 match. Which is, in its way, the most committed souvenir purchase of the tournament.
