Spotify collected KATSEYE's most committed listeners in Brooklyn on Monday night for an event it called Klub Katseye, staged at Elsewhere and built around Wild, the group's EP, which arrives on Friday.

The set, and the surprise

They played singles from the record, Pinky Up and Animal among them, and then went off the announced programme entirely with That Way, a track nobody outside the room had heard.

Daniela Avanzini told ELLE that having their top Spotify listeners in the room felt amazing, and that the group was excited both to put the show on and to play That Way in front of people for the first time.

The year around it

The EP lands in the middle of a year that has not let up. The group was put together in 2024 and documented in the Netflix series Popstar Academy. It opened 2026 with Grammy nominations for Best New Artist and Best Pop Duo or Group Performance, and has since played Coachella and a run of other American festivals.

A documentary, Katseye: Wild Hearts, came out on the day of the Brooklyn show. Later this month they appear at Olivia Rodrigo's Daisy Chain Fields festival, and the Wildworld Tour starts in September.

It has not been a clean run. Two members, Manon Bannerman and Sophia Laforteza, are currently on hiatus.

What is on the EP

Their own favourites are scattered across nearly every track, with Avanzini and Megan Skiendiel both landing on Hootie Frutti. Skiendiel's account of what changed is that the group had considerably more input this time, and that listeners should expect more honesty and rawer feeling because of it.

How they get ready

Lara Raj describes a mix of warm ups, occasional sleep, a moment together before they go on, and whatever each of them prefers to do alone. The one thing all of them share, she says, is eating, on the grounds that the energy has to come from somewhere.

What they want next

A world tour, in the literal sense. Yoonchae Jeung says the ambition is to play in each other's countries and hometowns, which for a group assembled out of several of them makes for a longer itinerary than most.
