Where the story picks up
Season five ended with Emily and her Italian boyfriend Marcello splitting up after he chose to stay in Italy to run his family's company. Back in Paris, Emily reconnects with her on again, off again love interest Gabriel after their mutual boss Sylvie sends him a pointed text letting him know Emily is back in town and single. Gabriel responds by inviting her to Greece, setting up the central question for season six: whether the two finally make things work. Showrunner Darren Star told Deadline in December 2025 that he is curious to see where Emily and Gabriel's reconnection goes, saying he hopes she says yes to the Greece invitation and noting the two seem likely to stay in each other's lives regardless. Collins offered a small preview of her own while speaking with Us Weekly at PaleyFest in April, confirming the characters do end up in Greece even though she had not yet read the scripts. Beyond the central romance, the season is expected to continue the tension between Mindy and Alfie despite her engagement to Nico, along with the business drama at Agence Grateau, now run jointly by Sylvie and Princess Jane after her sizable investment in the company.
