Angelina Jolie and her daughter Zahara made a rare joint appearance on Monday night, attending a New York City screening of Jolie's new film Without Blood at Village East by Angelika. The pair arrived hand in hand, both dressed in black but with entirely different takes on the color.
Two very different black looks
Jolie leaned into one of her longtime style signatures, a black suit, pairing a double breasted blazer with loose pleated trousers and a silky ivory bra worn underneath. She finished the look with pointed black heels and wore her long blond hair down and straight. Zahara went with a sleeveless black halter dress featuring a deep V neckline, with draped fabric gathered into a knot at the front before falling into a long straight skirt. She kept her accessories simple, with drop earrings, pointed black sling back heels and a dark manicure.
A family night at the movies
Photos from the evening showed Jolie holding Zahara's hand on the way into the theater and kissing her on the head at one point during the outing. Jolie wrote, directed and produced Without Blood, an adaptation of Alessandro Baricco's novel starring Salma Hayek Pinault and Demian Bichir, which arrives in U.S. theaters on September 18. The appearance comes a few months after Zahara graduated from Spelman College in May, an experience Jolie has described as one that transformed her daughter and became a lasting part of their family's story.
