Mornings belong to the order of play at the All England Lawn Tennis Club. Afternoons belong to the gin based punch the tournament pours by the hundred thousand. What follows is one way to spend the fortnight, with almost every stop inside a square mile of Mayfair. ## Where to stay 45 Park Lane is the small hotel with the outsized reputation: fewer than fifty rooms in the Dorchester Collection's contemporary building on Park Lane, with every window facing Hyde Park. The interiors are sumptuous without being fussy, and the contemporary art collection would hold its own in a gallery. ## Breakfast, properly The full English is a visitor's rite, and The Wolseley is where to observe it. Housed in the former 1921 Wolseley Motors showroom on Piccadilly, an eight minute walk from the hotel, it has kept the Omelette Arnold Bennett and the kedgeree on the menu for decades. The room has hosted more consequential conversations than most boardrooms. ## Music across the road British Summer Time takes over Hyde Park through the season, staging the Great Oak Stage in the royal park directly opposite. For the tennis thread specifically, Ralph Lauren has been Wimbledon's official outfitter for two decades and remains the only designer ever to hold the title. ## How to finish The fortnight ends properly at The Connaught Bar, where the martini arrives on a trolley and is built at the table with a choice of house made bitters. For the other kind of pilgrimage there is Dukes in St James's, where the gin comes straight from the freezer, no ice and no stirring, with a ribbon of lemon cut over the glass.
